We went camping for the first time as a family the end of Spring Break. We headed out to Inks Lake, which I was surprised was only an hour away. We had a great spot by the lake and near a potty, which was really important to me.
After we set up our tent and shade, we went for a hike, played on the playground and went fishing. Addie was wanting to run around and didn't really understand that she couldn't go into our neighbors tents.
It was really cold at night, so I wasn't able to sleep that well. That was the one thing, besides Addie, that I was worried the most about. I hate being cold and knew I would be miserable if it was too cold. I brought twelve blankets for us, but that wasn't enough. I did take a nice nap during the day with Addie, so I do know that the air matresses were comfortable. We will just go when it's warmer weather.
We had planned to stay two nights, but two things happened. One, there was a thunderstorm coming that next night with high winds, and two, Addie started running a fever and got sick. We were suppose to go on a boat ride before we left, but Addie was feeling so bad that we just packed up and left. That's ok though. We now know that we can do it and look forward to going back.
