UT Open House

Yesterday was UT's Open House, which is held every year the first Saturday in March. The entire campus is open to the public with over 400 activities for the kids to do. We visited the Engineering, Science, Health, GeoSciences, and Astronomy departments. The kids made "goo", playdough, dug for fossils, broke open Geo's, saw all kinds of insects, Caitlin ate a cookie made with Algae (apparently it's in a lot of the foods we eat), saw all kinds of things under a microscope and even had the opportunity to look at the insides of a pig, but they passed on that. At the Engineering department they had a challenge to make a contraption that could ring a bell within five steps using paper, cups, rubber bands, string, and a marble. If you succeeded you were able to put your name on the wall of fame. Of course Jacob "Mr Lego Man" succeeded and was proud to put his name up. Addie took it all in stride and even took a nap along the way. Caitlin's favorite part was making the "goo" and digging for fossils. We had a great time and will definitely go next year!

PS: in the pics Jacob is wearing a Brain hat...
